Well my school is dumb and already making us sign up for our senior year classes and I was hoping you guys could help me decide which classes to take.

So for sure I'm taking:
Orchestra
English 4 AP
AP gov/ap eco
ap bc calc

now i'm left with 3 spots i can fill with

1 from either ap physics c or ap bio

and 2 between these classes:
ap stat
computer maintenance honors
or a self-studyish type of project thing

do college look at how many ap's you take senior year? because I think stat will be a blowoff/joke class because I don't want to take both bio and phys C same time senior year...
and between the comp maintenance and self-study thing, comp maintenance is just like learning stuff about physical computers while the selfstudy thing is like a group project me and a couple of friends can do. We have to make a program and sorta present it on a website for BPA(?) kind of thing and our program is judged to see how well we did...
which of these classes do you think would be more beneficial for me for college? would the self-study project thing turn college off?
by the way I have no preference to my sciences, I hate all my classes hahaha

thanks for your help :)

I don’t think you should take AP Stat if you want it for college credit. I have friends in it who said their teacher told them most colleges don’t accept credit for it, in college you have to take the stat of what your major is in. Only 2 people from my school took it last year.

The rule of thumb is to take as many A.P. classes as possible. Period. That being said, you have to make sure that you can handle the course load, so if you think you can handle taking all 3 a.p.'s, I would seriously consider it. If you decide against it, I would recommend that you take the self-study class. If you take it seriously and come up with a respectable project it’ll look good on college apps and could set you apart.

No, the rule is to take as many APs as possible AS LONG AS you can handle it and you know that you can thrive in that specific learning atmosphere. What good is it if you take 5 APs but have Cs and Ds in Lit and Psych because you’re a math/science kid?

But I would do the project class because it allows a ton of room for creativity and innovation. If you like computers, take the computers class. If not, go AP Stat. bang.

@Excavalier: That’s what I meant to say in my post, I apologize if I didn’t state it clearly.
