Reposted from my “Class of 2020: Follow the Journey” thread. Wanted to see if this would allow me to get people’s opinions on it. Check that thread for more of my stats/aspirations.
I’ve also figured out my senior year schedule for next year (I think)! Tell me what you all think, and if you have any recommendations!
H Creative Writing
H TV Production
H Newspaper Production
AP English Lang & Comp
AP Econ (Macro and Micro)
H Chamber Choir (Highest Level)
Gym (IL Requirement )
What do you think of my schedule? I was thinking of maybe adding Calc to appease any potential business schools, but I’ve already taken Algebra 1&2 (with Trig), Geometry, Precalc, and Stats. Plus I kinda hate math
If you are planning to go to business school, I’d take Calc.
For me, Calc was easier than Precalc.
@ErenYeager which class would you chop?
I’m really not sure actually, probably one of the honors? For someone into writing it’s hard to drop any f the first three, and to have made it to top level chorus you must be into it, so I’m not sure. Worst case scenario you could drop AP economics, but I wouldn’t recommend doing that.
@ErenYeager haha I know! I’ve literally taken all the classes I need to graduate (I could this year if I wanted to) and so I stacked my schedule this year with the classes I’ve always wanted to take. Ideally I could ask my counselor to consider waiving gym as I’m “pursuing higher level music” as that has worked for people in my class in the past.
Waive gym if you can and consider adding Calc. That’s a good one to have under your belt. I would also consider replacing one of the top 3 courses with a science.
See if you can get gym waived indeed. (Are you involved in any sport?)
Considering how heavily weighted toward Humanities your schedule is, do you have AP language or the highest level in foreign language that your school offers?
What colleges are you aiming for, what’s your current GPA, is your school a rural school or does it offer many APs?
@MYOS1634 indeed I run cross country and track year round. I’m taking AP Spanish in my junior year, and all the other information can be found on my “Class of 2020: Follow the Journey” thread.
Okay thanks. Will check it out!
So, as a varsity athlete (also involved in higher level choir?) you shouldn’t have to take gym. And Ap Spanish means you’re good for Foreign Languages.
