Hey everyone, here is my issue: I am trying figure out if I want to either a) play basketball or b) do indoor tennis and either get another job or volunteer.

I have played basketball all three years before and I will be a varsity player again. Not necessarily starting, but not exactly a significant contributer. The problem is that it isn't as fun as it used to be and I don't know if I want to add the extra stress.

Otherwise, I would do indoor tennis on my own time (I'm a lot better at tennis than basketball). Also, I would either get a job and save money for school or possibly volunteer at the local animal shelter (which seems like a lot of fun).

My question is, if I decided not to play, would it be negatively received by adcoms because I stopped, or would it not matter as much?

If it helps, I'm applying to UW-Madison, Carleton, Macalester, Princeton, Yale, and Vanderbilt.
