Hello. I'm having some horrible fears about my chances as a sophomore transfer into Mount Holyoke College and Smith College.

My overall HS GPA was an average 3.6 UW with a lot of Bs. My senior year I made a C- in an AP math class and now I'm horrified by the possibility of one bad class in the context of an average transcript hurting my chances at either school. I'm hoping they'll overlook some of it given considerable family health struggle, but everyone has their reasons.

My college GPA looks like it is going to be a 4.0 (6 hours in a rigorous honors writing class, 5 hours in Mandarin, 4 hours in an intro science course). Next semester is also reasonably challenging with classes that I should do well in.

My SATs should be fine as a transfer cr 730/mt 570/wr 750. I know the math is low, but I'm a lib arts major. My ECs are pretty good, too. Haven't interviewed with Smith yet, but my MoHo interview went really well. The admissions rep. said I seemed perfect for MoHo. I'm writing specific essays to both schools because I have specific reasons for transferring. Prof recs are, well, hopefully decent enough.

I'm having a small panic because I genuinely hate being at my current school. If rejected at these two schools along with Amherst (the school I truly love but have no shot at), I'll probably have to go to a CC for a year. I really don't know what else to do.

Tl:dr - Will a C- my senior year doom me to br rejected at Mount Holyoke and Smith as a sophomore? If you have experience, please respond.
