If you apply ed, does that school ever see your senior year grades or just the courses that you are taking, because by the time they get your app the time it takes to send your 1st quarter grades wouldn't guarantee a response by dec 15 due to processing time. So does an ed school see 1st quarter grades if you get in? My guidance counselor kind of told me that they didn't but I was so shocked that I knew that I had to go to cc for the right answer lol. Doesn't the transcript that is sent to your ed school not even have your 1st quarter grades of senior year? thanks for the help

i don't think so. cuz ED is due Nov. 1, and in some schools, like mine, first marking period doesn't end until mid-late November. so it's impossible for them to see the grades.

though do check the individuals school's website for their exact policy on ED applicants.

some ED's are due nov 15, and our first marking period ends at the end of october, so I'm assuming my early schools will see my 1st quarter grades

I'm not sure the exact date of when the quarter ends but if grades are sent home on nov 22, i dont know how colleges could see 1st quarter grades for ed apps. do u think its possible? i will check again with my counselor, because i feel like it would be made a bigger deal if schools didnt see 1st quarter grades, but thats just me

while making the decision they dont but after decision the will still ask u to update them with latest scores and grades.....
if it falls too much...ur admission may be rescinded

A few adcoms I've talked to on my visits have said even though the deadline in Nov. 1st they don't sit down and read apps to at least mid to late Nov. and they like to have first quarter grades at hand.

right but if the deadline is nov 15, not nov. 1 how could they? thats a solid 1/2 a month later.

You can send in your grades after you send in your app.

I've posted this elsewhere, but here goes again: my son was told last year that about half of the colleges will call high schools and ask for 1st quarter grades for ED applicants; the high school typically will fax the grades or give them over the phone.

Yea that true, my college counselor always says that he gets calls requesting grades b/c we have trimesters, so getting grades to schools is even tough for RD sometimes. Anyway, there is usually enough time for them to get your senior year first quater/trimester grades in time to be reviewed for ED...
