Hey everyone, just had a question about senior year grades.

I'm applying to all liberal arts colleges (Middlebury, Wesleyan, Holy Cross, Kenyon, Bates, Bowdoin, Connecticut...) and I got 2 B's this semester in AP Physics C: Mechanics and AP Calculus BC. Just wondering if that would hurt any of my chances of majoring in Economics at these colleges. I've had a few B's on my transcript already and just wondering if 2 B's on those subject would do anything. Thanks.

None of your schools will require you to decide on a major until part way through your sophomore school of college, and all of them will permit you to declare an econ major if you are accepted and decide to attend. Your high school grades won’t affect your ability to pursue an econ major at any of these schools.

However, your senior year grades are very important for admission decisions. All these schools regularly admit people who don’t even attempt Calc BC and AP Phys C. The rigor of those courses is high and getting a B in them is not a black mark on a transcript. It isn’t as good as As, of course, but on their own these two grades don’t prevent you from being seen as academically qualified for any of those schools.
