Mid-year scores for Senior year

Hey guys,

I am currently a senior at a pretty prestigious high school in upstate NY and i was wondering if any of you guys knew the colleges views on mid-year reports. I am taking an AP Calculus BC class and it is honestly the hardest class i have ever taken in my entire life haha the teacher sucks and the material is extremely hard. My first quarter grade was a 90 and my second quarter grade, with two weeks left, is at a 77. This is by far the lowest grade in a class i have ever had. How will the colleges approach this? I know my mid year grade will be about a 85 perhaps.
My GPA is around a 94.5 and i have a SAT score of 1460 out of 1600. I applied regular admission to all my colleges and i wonder if they will see this dip in a grade. Will it really affect the application process?

Any ideas?

Thanks

btw, these are my other latest grades:
AP Env science: 96
Physics honors: 94
AP CALC BC: 84 :frowning:
spanish 5 honors (college credits): 96
Humanities: 95
Economics honors: 96

Eke out whatever you need for a B+ and you should be fine, as long as you hold your other grades steady. Half a letter grade in a tough class won’t phase anyone. If you can get one of your other classes from A to A+ then it’ll hardly matter at all.

It looks worse if:

– You fall a full letter grade from A to B
– Your first-choice major is mathematics/stats/economics etc.
– The drop is part of a trend across all your classes (this doesn’t seem to be the case)
