Hey! Current junior here. As of recent, my grades have been going down. Here are my current classes and their respective grades:
AP Econ (Micro+Macro): A- (B this marking period)
AP Calculus BC (have not taken AB prior): B
AP Physics C Mechanics: A+
Elective: A+
AP Gov: A- (B this marking period)
AP Lang: A+
Hrs German: A+
My main issue is with Econ and Calc, as my prospective major in college is CS with a potential double major/minor in economics. How bad would ending with a B in both of these classes be? Thanks!
Just refreshing this post.
Colleges aren’t going to see each marking period and the ups and downs- just your final grade on your official transcript. And many colleges don’t admit by major, so how you are doing in one core class vs. another won’t be that material.
The main thing to remember is that you need a balanced list (regardless of whether you get an A or a B in econ) including colleges where you’re a slam dunk regardless of how the semester ends!

As stated above, the transcript will have your final grade. Focus on finishing strong and making sure you know what will be on the finals so that does not bring your grade down.
If you need extra help with Calc BC make sure to get that now. It will just get harder. Your teacher should be able to identify where you may have done gaps. This may also be a teacher you need a letter of recommendation from, so showing you can work through a productive struggle goes a long way.
Scale back on ECs or other things a little if needed as GPA matters. You do not need to stop doing anything all together, but just prioritize your time.

I think the Calc matters more than the Econ, so focus on getting at least a 4 on the AP exam. I agree that it’s more important you learn the material, since at a lot of colleges you do need calculus for the CS major. Good luck!
