I submitted by UT application for engineering back in November and I just received my semester one senior year grades, which are much higher than my grades from past years. As a result, I want to send these to UT and hopefully get a boost in my application. I know that they don’t usually ask for the senior year grades but is there any way to do so?
Thank you!
You would have to send a new transcript. I am pretty sure they stopped accepting transcripts in December but you might try to upload it in the document upload system. If that does not work, call to see if they will accept it.
Last year, it looked like people who appealed were able to submit updated grades so there may be an opportunity in March if you don’t get into your major.
Just saw where someone asked on Twitter if they could send their letters of recommendation in now and they said
“Sorry, we’re not able to consider new materials so far past the deadline.”
Not sure if transcripts count in that. I’d call because the worst that could happen is they say no.
For anyone with the same question, I called UT today and they said they do not (unfortunately) consider any senior year grades. Argh! I think my first semester grades would have really helped my application.
Well- you tried and you don’t have to wonder anymore. Thanks for updating the thread because I bet this question comes up every year.
On 2-1-16 my DS my status page, it shows his first semester transcripts were sent to UT. It was interesting, because they didn’t notify us directly. It was located under the my documents tab in his My Status page.
@ProudParent2020 What does it say for class rank? I’m thinking about sending in my first semester senior year grades since my rank moved up, but I’m not sure if I should save it for an appeal.
@DoctorBojangles His school does not rank students. His GPA got substancially better in his Junior and 1st semester Senior year, so glad to see UT wants to learn more about his GPA trend. He is an OOS applying for computer engineering. I would submit your first semester grades if they will consider them.
My S submitted a mid year report with improved GPA and rank and the system reflects it, and he applied back in September.
@s16s18s21s25 how was your S able to submit a mid year report? Did he use the document upload system or did he mail it in?
We just had guidance send mid years to all schools. I assume they faxed or uploaded it or whatever. I didn’t know if they would look at it or not, both seem to be have accepted by the system–reflects the improved rank and a later date for the transcript. Do I think it will make a difference? No, but it was worth a shot…
