I know this may be a dumb question, but I was just wondering how a B senior year would affect my chances. I have gotten a few B+'s (never anything below a B+) over the years. I think I can keep all of my senior year grades at an A or higher, but English will probably be a B. I am taking 5 AP classes, but the English class is regular. I am applying to schools of the Northeastern and Boston University level of prestige. This may sound really dumb but would that B affect my chances at all, or will it not really matter?
Also, my B+'s in the past have been the humanities classes (English is the only class where I have had a B+ every single year), so it is no surprise that English would be the B
Colleges will look at your whole transcript not just one class and one grade so I would not worry about it too much as it sounds like you are doing the best you can in your English class.
I would focus on drafting excellent essays, researching these colleges so that you really know them and how you will contribute to their campus culture by accepting you. Make sure you apply to a range of colleges not just private competitive Boston colleges (i.e. a good mix of reach, match and safety colleges) that fit you academically, financially and socially.
Good luck!
@socaldad2002 thank! I’m definitely applying to different schools. I like NYU, Baylor, a few UC schools, Dayton, George Washington, and UMiami. I know it probably won’t, but I just want to make sure that the grade wouldn’t affect my chances too much.
