Senior Year info

I'm starting a thread for misc bits of info for high school seniors.

Topic 1: Presidential Scholars in the Arts.

I've been asked several times lately regarding about how do kids qualify for this. These are awarded to a few (perhaps 2 or 3) instrumentalists each year. 20 are awarded all together including composers, theater, vocal, dance, writing, photography, etc. All finalists come from the NFAA, National Foundation for Advancement of the Arts. You can find out more at NFAA.org. It is only for rising high school seniors. Early registration is June 1, late registration is October.

Good luck to all that apply!

"It is only for rising high school seniors."

High school grads are eligible, too, as long as they are no older than 18 as of December 1. So a college freshman or someone on a gap year could apply, as long as they meet the age requirement.

High school grads are eligible for NFAA, but not for Presidential Scholars.
