I recently applied for a Presidential Scholarship in the Arts (writing). I also got a 2400 on the SAT's, which means I should also be nominated to be an academic Presidential Scholar in a couple of months. Does anybody know if the two Presidential Scholar programs (artistic vs academic) are at all related, and if being involved with both will at all help with the selction process for either? Also, how exactly does the Presidential Scholar selection work, and when would I be notified I got an award through the NFAA program? Thank you for your time.

they are related. harvard loves presidential scholars. you get notified if you made the list in jan, but know if you are after the college app.

bumpity bump bump

I wish I had known about this before yesterday...

How does NFAA find out the student's SAT score? There isn't anywhere on the NFAA application to list the score. I am wondering if they ask the students once they are selected by the NFAA program. Does anyone know SAT score is required in order to become a presidential scholar in the arts? I am guess it's somewhat lower than the 2400 required for the academic presidential scholarship.

bump.......

Does anyone have any experience with the Presidential Scholars in the Arts program?

The Presidential Scholars in the Arts program does not have anything to do with SAT scores.

However, the Presidential Scholars program does: Presidential Scholars

I don't know how/if the two are related, but I know they are two distinctive awards.

they are somewhat related in which the arts prgoram nominates 20 to be pres scholar in the arts

The NFAA can probably find out because it asks your school's CEEB code on the application, and the College Board generally releases scores to such organizations (or so I think).
