Senior year schedule rigorous enough???

You need more APs

Seriously, I don't see how you could make that schedule any more difficult without taking all the fun out of senior year.

yes i am being serious you fools. i want to major in business if you guys want to know. i havent taken physics but have taken bio and taking ap chem as of now.

yes he is being serious and now that the "rest of the story" is clear - you are going to be ok.

You guys cannot make rash generalizations about what is good/bad for this kid without knowing more information. It has nothing to do with how many AP's one has. It has to do with a well rounded education throughout high school in English, Science, Math, Social Studies and Foreign Language.

If he wanted to major in engineering than the schedule would in fact be deficient.
With Business - you are good without physics but taking calculus is a real plus. Do well in it.
One more thing - AP's. Look at your friends who are seniors now and their AP schedule. You will be faced with these exams the first two weeks in May. Make sure you know going in what will be expected of you the end of April - early May - Look at the AP testing schedule, perhaps it is out for 2009 already and see where your tests will fall.

Any idea where you will apply?

yes i have a good idea

ucla
uci
ucsd
uc berkeley
u penn
usc
stanford
u of michigan
columbia
perhaps brown

just the right amount. If you really wanted to you could take it further by taking ap bio etc etc...

Calc AB not an AP class? Weird.

I took 4 weighted classes and I seriously regret doing so. After you get into college, classes that have a major workload usually start dragging your grades down.

A lot of the times, I look back on my schedule and think: "I bet if I didn't take this class, I would've still gotten into x college."

Taking a few weighted is a good idea espeically if you have taken a lot before (to show that you are still working hard) but don't overdo it.

German 4
AP Lit
AP Gov
AP Econ
AP Enviro
Calc AB

I was assuming the Calc AB was AP Calc AB.

My kids haven't found AP Courses to be easy for a GPA but that is the way their school calculates GPA.
If I were to make any changes perhaps:
AP Lit
German4
Calc AB - AP I am assuming.
AP Biology - If you want to drop AP Enviro for AP Bio that would get great. Think twice about AP Chem or Physics - unless you are super into chem and/or physics.
AP Econ

AP Gov is a semester class - at our school they teach it for a whole year but they don't do much the second half - it is slow paced an easy. If you need a gov class - take it, but if you had a gov class don't bother.
It might actually be better to drop the AP Gov and AP Enviro and pick up AP Biology.
This would give you a good solid schedule in core classes and 4 AP tests.

You really want to do well in calculus with those schools on your list. Cannot emphasize that enough.
