Senior Year Schedule

Hello all!

Next year I am taking 5 AP classes (AP Calculus AB, AP Physics 1, AP Lit, AP Spanish, and AP Macroeconomics). I am also enrolled in one study hall and I still had one extra hour in my schedule. I signed up for Honors World Mythology, but I just spoke with my counselor and requested him to change Honors World Mythology to Independent Services. Last year I also had a full schedule with 4 APs and two Honors. Does it look bad if I am taking one study hall and Independent Service Senior Year? I have never taken two study halls...

Thanks(:

If you handled your junior schedule fine, then I think you would be fine senior year with only one study hall. I don’t know what independent service is, but if it’s just like a study hall then I definitely think you should take another class instead

@maymay5678‌ Yes, but I am also the Student Council President so that hour would be devoted to that.

Bump!!

None of us knows what independent services is, so if you would like to share, you might get some better advice.

@skieurope‌ Yes, it is an hour where you can either work for a club or do something in service of your school. In my case, I will be utilizing the hour for student council tasks since I am President of Student Council Executive Board.

Hello;

I’m a rising Senior and I’m taking the exact same AP classes as you!
(With the exception of AP Macroeconomics - instead I’ll be taking AP US Gov.) How cool, right?
However, I don’t think it really matters since you’re taking 5 AP’s. I think that’s impressive enough.

You can either keep your schedule the way it is with two “study halls” (since 5 APs should be sufficient) or replace Study Hall with a class. Independent Services sounds like it actually has a semi-useful function, whereas Study Hall is just a period where you do homework…
