Senior Year Schedule

i wanted to take two ap sciences next year and i signed up for ap bio and ap chem but now im hearing that the two overlap too much and that makes it difficult to do them at the same time. Would i be better off taking chem and maybe physics instead of bio? any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated. thanks!

All I have to say is wow....and good luck to everyone taking more than 3 APs next year.

Here's my schedule:
Aerobics/Ballroom
Robotics
Spanish
Physics
AP Calc
AP English
and either AP Psyc or regular Psyc

I actually could use some opinions on what to do with my schedule for my senior year. I've maxed out all of the math and English classes at my school (took Calc BC as a sophomore and Calc III last year, and have already taken AP Lang and AP Lit), and probably won't have the opportunity to take either at a local college, but I have a lot of independent study and performing arts classes so I'm not sure if I should squeeze in another AP (with my senior year's three, my grand total would be nine).

My Schedule:

AP Bio
AP Computer Science
AP Art History
Advanced Acting
Jazz Choir
Cecilian Singers (mixed choir)
Ind. Study English
Ind. Study Playwrighting
Ind. Study PE (don't ask)

I was thinking I may want to take AP Euro or AP Spanish or some other AP as well...any thoughts?

I don't think Chem and Bio overlap very much at all. And if they did overlap, wouldn't that make it easier? I think Chem and Bio is better than Chem and Phys- Bio is very different from the other two (Barely any math). Bio is mostly memorization, Chem and Phys require some memorization, and applying concepts to problems with math. And Chem and Phys have overlap, too-thermodynamics, waves, etc. If you're great in math do Chem and Phys, but otherwise do Bio and Chem. (Note: I've done both AP Bio and Chem, and am taking AP Phys next year).

AP Calc BC- like three APs
AP Psych
AP Stats
AP Euro
AP Chem
French 4A
World Lit A
and Gym, my favorite lol

I LOVE MATH AND I LOVE SMALL CLASSES! THERE'S ONLY 3 PEOPLE IN MY SCHOOL TAKING CALC BC!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!! FRENCH 4A ONLY HAS LIKE 11 PEOPLE!!! MY COUNSELOR THINKS I'M NUTS, BUT I DON'T CARE!!! I'M JUST SO EXCITED FOR NEXT YEAR!!!

AP English Lit
AP Economics
AP Stat
Marine Biology
Work Experience

APChem
gym (NJ sux but its only 3 days a week)
APBio
AP Eng
APGo/Po
Honors German 4
AP Calc BC
Improv (my application hook and keeps me sane)

Wow that's awesome that you have an Improv class at school. My auditioned Advanced Acting does a lot of improv shows and whatnot, but it's definitely not an improv class. What sort of games/activites to you play/do?

Basically its an acting class, but its focused around improv. There is 3 years of it, where the first year, you just learn the basics of acting. The 2nd year you do a lot of games and make up scenes and stuff. They make you do an afterschool show of improvs games at the end of 1st marking period. After that, its off to writing scenes, which are derived from improved scenes. 3rd year (Advanced Improv) is basically like an acting class, but there is less definite stuff. You do a fall show that is scripted, but you only use the script as an outline, and lots of stuff is changed. Then you write your own "Christmas" show (this is also done by 2nd yearers) for 7 year olds. Next you have a "Improv coffee house" where you fit 115 ppl in the class room and perform improv games. You also go out to local elementary schools and put on shows for Dr. Seuss day. At the end of the year you do a show for the High School audience with your own written material, making fun of school. Its really fun, but its a GPA killer.

(Un)Fortunatly for me, there was a scheudle conflict for me and now I'm in the 2nd year class but I'll be teaching them stuff in an (notice the quotes) "Independent" study. But, it will not be factored into my GPA, so trade offs. The upper levels are audition only.

To sum up... its an acting class, that teaches you moreso to think on your feet than to "find the motivation"

Gotcha. Yeah my advanced acting class is pretty versatile and includes a lot of what you mentioned above (especially writing scenes based off of improv scenes, and we do five shows a year), but I'm just impressed that there's a class specifically for improv.

I can definitely feel ya about it being a GPA killer, though. My freshman year theatre was my only unweighted class, so I had a 4.83, but next year I've got four performing arts classes, and of course they aren't weighted (although I probably do more work for them than other honors courses). Silly.

Yeah my teacher like to give speechs how people drop out of the Top 10 because they took this class for 4 years. I'm just glad i can compensate by dropping the waste period of lunch and study hall for AP classes.

Why Ignore Ants, are you looking into theater as a major, or just something to do on the side at college.

As a major, actually, but just a BA, as opposed to a BFA. Maybe eventually an MFA, but I'm probably double majoring in English and I wanted at least a math minor too, thus the decision to go for a BA in theatre instead of a BFA or conservatory program.

How about you?

Funny, I really want to be a Math Major. I'm more into it as an on the side thing. However, most schools have a few improv "gangs" that go around and do shows.

Yeah it's really interesting because a lot of the best performers from my school (there are a lot) don't end up going into theatre. Even though that's probably the most practical thing to do...

Junior Year:

AP English Language
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus AB
AP US History
Spanish 3
Photoshop or photography
H American Lit (if they have morning period)

Senior schedule:
AP English
AP Lit/comp.
AP Chemistry
AP Physics B (self-studying for C)
AP Statistics
AP German (easy class)
AP Calculus AB
Has anyone taken AP English Language and AP Lit./comp. in the same year? Is it a overload?

can someone give me their opinion on this please: AP Civic/Econ or AP Spanish?

How do you guys take so many AP classes? I can't even fit mine into my schedule!

Here's my schedule for next year. It's very easy compared to the ones here:
AP English Lit
AP Calc BC
AP Environmental
French IV H
Gov/Econ H

^ looks good, if you can handle more, add more.

Sweetdream, I have never taken Spanish (I'm German), so I have taken AP Government, AP US Hist. and AP Eco. (Mac/Mic). Macro, and Micr. I took through Apex Learning (online class) and it was a little hard at the begining but you get used to the timed test formats and assignmets. In AP Government, you will be assignment to write many essays on various political topics, which drived me nuts. AP Spanish test is harder, but if you don't plan to use that language in the future, I would go with AP econ/civics.

AP Literature and Composition
AP Micro Econ
AP US Govt
AP Statistics
AP Physics C
Calculus C (At University of Alabama, Huntsville)
Differential Equations (Also at UAH)
Math Seminar (Math team...)
Health (Graduation Requirement...)
Teacher's Aid (Semester after health)

I started my summer physics homework tonight and I already don't like it... : ( I'm more of a bio-chem person.
