My classes for senior year are finally set in stone after much deciding, and I really need to pull close to straight A’s if I want a shot at UMich if I get deferred, so does anyone have tips on how to juggle all of these classes with extracurriculars?
AP Biology
AP Physics 1
AP Calc BC
AP Language
AP CSP
French 4
What do you want to major in? Why two AP sciences?
Either Neuroscience or genetics, but I haven’t taken a physics class yet, so I decided to do so next year.
AP Biology and AP Calc BC are really heavy courses. Based on my experience with the two classes, they both required a really large time commitment. I suggest taking a lot of caution next year with all of your classes. I barely pulled a C+ for Calc BC and a B- for Bio, but those poor grades really paid off for me in the end by getting me AP credit in math and A’s in Biology I and II, respectively. One of my mistakes with these courses was that I wasn’t getting help when I needed it. I got a tutor for Calc BC 2 months before the AP Exam, and even though that cut it really close, I still got a 4 on the Exam. My advice is to review often and get help when you need it. It would also be helpful to take study breaks. I think you’ll be ok juggling AP’s and EC’s, but just make sure you don’t fall behind.
Since you mentioned that you’re interested in Neuroscience, my school, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, has a new Neuroscience major. The professors in the program are really good at what they do, so if you’re from the Northeast, I would keep it as a school on your application list LOL.
I hope this helped and best of luck! You got this!
