Senior Year- W or Take the Chance?

Taking a physics class that I could have taken a long time ago but waited. Tanked the first test. The average was pretty low, but my grade was much lower.

I am a senior in CE with a 3.2 and am doing fairly well in the rest of my classes. Sad as it may be, I only need a D in this physics class. I will take any passing grade and move on as my GPA does not matter much anymore (already have employment secured)

Obviously I will try better on the next test, but then there is one more test and the final after the 'W' date.

I obviously do not want an F, but would take the D.

If I don't do very well on the next test, and I am borderline D/F, I would consider dropping and retaking in the summer. But I am on track otherwise to graduate in the spring. I would like to graduate with all of my peers and not go to summer school for a 4th TIME!!

I hope you can see my dilemma. I will be in the library the next 3 weeks in order to try and smoke the next test, but need be, what would you do in my situation?

Thanks.

So you want the D, huh?

If you do need the class to graduate and don’t care about your GPA, I don’t see any solid reason to drop it. My advice would be to form study groups. If the other students don’t care enough (this has happened to me even when nobody understood the material), see if you can meet with the professor and work through a bunch of problems under his/her supervision.
