Senior Year

Sorry, I have read all the threads about the importance of senior year grades, but I think I'm in a slightly different situation. This year, I have taken the following classes with the corresponding grades:

AP English B
AP Modern Euro A
AP Pysch A
AP Calc BC B
AP Stats C
French IV A

The question I have is this: will that C in Stats really matter especially when I do relatively well in AP Calc BC? For the past few weeks, I have been giving myself a heart attack over that one grade. I enjoy math, which is why I took two math classes, but I worry that C in the extra AP math will hurt my college chances. For comparison, at the end of junior year, I had a UW GPA of 3.89. Also, I applied to Gtown, GWashington, NWestern, Uni. of Chicago, UMass-Amherst, William and Mary, and University of Virginia. If it anyone could give me closure on this issue, it would be a great relief.

its a senior year grade which will most likely not make or break your application, especially if your other grades in high school have been good

Senior grades first semester are critically important. Since your schedule is roughly equivalent to a college level schedule, you have shown exactly how capable you are at handling college level work.

Sorry bud.

Your semester grades will be important if they are needed and used in order to make an application decision. After you are accepted, the C is not going to matter..................won't matter at all. Not one single bit. You will not get a rescinded offer for a C on your final grades. Won't happen. It could hurt you if you have a C on your first semester grades.

Relax you are in BC. You are fine. I don't know your other scores, SAT's etc.

I wish you all the best.

I mean my SATs are decent (760 CR 700W 620M), but I know, deep down, I'm blowing that C out of proportion. I haven't applied anywhere early, so colleges will see that C, though it is the only one I've had throughout high school.

You will be fine CheeZe. You ARE blowing it out of proportion and that is because you are a student who cares about your grades. Any admission officer will see that it is the only C on your transcript. They will only see it if it's on your semester report. Your SAT's are great. Trust me, you will be fine.

Happy Holidays and good luck!
