Senioritis and Incoming Freshman

Hi! I'm a senior, and I am less than two months away from graduating. I'm going to be attending CSU East Bay in the fall, and I'm both excited and scared.

Right now, I have a case of "Senioritis." The school days just don't seem to be going by fast enough. I just want to graduate already!

Then again, I'm freaking out because I don't know what to expect next year. I've never been super independent, and I'm incredibly shy. I'm afraid that I'm not going to enjoy college like everyone says I will. Oh, and I'm totally freaking out about meeting new people and having a bad roommate. I really hope I get a nice person, and we just "click" and connect instantly and become best friends...and, who am I kidding? How often does that really happen? :/

Do you guys have any advice for me?

Your answers can range from anything like "must-have items" to "how to make friends."
I want to know it all! :) Please and thank you!

Don’t worry about being on your own for the first time because you’re not independent your freshman year. You live in a dorm, you don’t have to make your own food, you don’t have bills to pay such as rent/utilities/cable/insurance/etc. Your only responsibility is classes.

:-) What HDMADCK said. Also, I was just like you-- very shy, pretty dependent on parents, and so on. I didn’t figure out who I REALLY liked to hang out with until November or so, so don’t worry about not “clicking” with people within your first few weeks. It may seem like everyone has best friends by then, but trust me, they’re in the same position as you.

To make friends, just be open minded… don’t make friends with people because they’re majoring in the same thing as you or because they’ll be a “good connection”. Just figure out who you like and don’t stress about it. Also, try to make diverse friends… (like, not all of them are from this one club, or are all Asian, etc). But yeah, TRUST ME the friends will happen. Also, even if you are stuck with a bad roommate, it’s really not the worst thing that can happen to you. People who have bad roommates still have a blast at college. I’d also say that even if you and your roommate don’t exactly become best buds, if you guys get along and don’t MIND each others’ company, I’d say you got pretty lucky. :-)

Lol i didnt wana go to that campus caz its too close to home but it’s actually a nice campus i might go there after going to BCC but idk yet.

Go to orientation and meet new ppl
