Senioritis Hitting Hard?

Hey all,

Senioritis is really hitting me now; having been accepted into a few colleges (still wating on an ED result though), I find myself with no motivation learn Physics, so I’m wondering how i can counter this and whether or not senior year grades even matter.

Senior Year first semester counts so you should pay attention first semester, but if you get like a B in a subject senior, they will still look at other aspects of the application and care less about a B

Your only motivation to learn Physics was getting accepted to college? I’m pretty sure you didn’t put that in any of your essays. What happened to learning it because learning is good?

Bad grades Senior year can lead to having offers of admission rescinded.

@JustOneDad
A significant amount of students have the same attitude towards a lot of their classes

My senioritis just hit. I got accepted into one of my top choices yesterday and now I just don’t want to fill out my other applications even though they are also some of my top choices. And I could care less if I get a B nowadays. It used to be like “OMG a B!!” cries throughout winter break/summer. Now my reaction to everything school related is “Meh.” As for getting over it, I don’t know if your school does this, but ranks still affect graduation up until the 1st nine weeks of the 2nd semester. So if I want to graduate Cum Laude (so I don’t have to wait hours since my last name is towards the end of the alphabet), I have to buck up and raise my rank by at least 4%. Not too bad considering half the senior class is taking an off period (no credit).

@JustOneDad well physics is still interesting but I don’t feel motivated to do my homework now when I could be not doing my homework. I enjoy learning but I’m kind of burnt out. No need to condescend.

Many students thought like and, guess what… their grades dropped. So when the colleges get your midyear report, you get rescinded - ie., you lose your acceptance.
So make sure you get B’s now on.

My senioritis started like when I was a junior, lol. The only way I can motivate myself to do anything in school is by just forcing myself to do it.

It’s not even Jan 1, yet.

It’s not senioritis. Senioritis hits in March. You’re just seizing a pretext to be lazy in November, because you’re tired, it’s dark and getting cold, it’s not the holiday season yet, etc. Buckle up: 4 more months to go :slight_smile:

OMG, I’ve got senioritis, too…
