burnout is intensified by cc. come back on december 15th.
senioritis hits around december whether you get into college or not.

Haha. Yeah, I really need to get off this board. Well, here I go....

I think I fluctuate between burnout and senioritis. Every other week seems to be hard for me so I either slack off or work so much it hurts.

i slack too much someone give me an inspirational speech so i go do something productive

whether we get in early or not, its over after the first semester. we just have to graduate without blowing it

"whether we get in early or not, its over after the first semester. "

Getting c's in your classes second semester when you're applying RD will not help. Colleges will frequently expect a 2nd semester midterm progress report on their applicants (sent along with first semester grades), so getting C's will not bolster your chances of getting in.

Yea I'm trying to graduate Cum Laude so I don't think I can ever really slack =/

:-( hopefully i get in ED...im gona like end with 2 bs 1st semester ack!

i have two semesters at my school. i'll know if i'm accepted to a school before i'm even done with the academic year, so how will they be able to use those grades for admission?

It does happen. My school's head prefect got admission to MIT on basis of his first semester exam marks, but later on he was denied admission coz he got an overall D in his final exams

They can revoke the acceptance, or more likely, put you on academic probation once you're there, which doesn't sound like fun =/

thats blowing it :-/ a D average on final exams in highschool..come on. i'd have to be under the influence

"i have two semesters at my school. i'll know if i'm accepted to a school before i'm even done with the academic year, so how will they be able to use those grades for admission?"

because colleges expect status reports on you. if your cc calls them and tells the adcom that you're maintaining and straight A average in the 2nd semester, you might get a better look in the RD process. But if the college calls and discovers that you're doing poorly, you're not helping yourself at all.

Of course, if you get admitted early, then you pretty much can drop a full grade in your average and not have your college scream at you.

how so mzhang? are ed applicants given more slack because they're considered special - is Princeton willing to accept them early, knowing they could be giving up places with might have gone to more qualified RD applicants - but still willing to take that risk?

i think its more because you're already in, as opposed to RD where they are still making the decision in february when they receive the school report.
