14 schools. I wanted 12, but my mom forced me to add two to the list.

7 schools. 2 safeties, 1 match, 1 slight reach and 3 reaches

9 (1 big reach, 2 semi-reach, 1 low-reach, 4 safetyish schools that I would still love to attend, 1 flat out safety)

7 (all EA {or rolling...})--4 safeties, 1 match, 2 high matches.

I wasn't feeling particularly confident.

14 (3 safeties, 2 matches, 9 reaches, *** was I thinking...)

2 safeties, 1 ED (which I got into and then my parents wanted me to apply to two more...)

So I guess five total. But I'll never know if I got into 3 of them sigh

6 safeties, 1 reach

though i've been told it's not really that big of a reach...

maybe i should have... applied to more reaches hahahaha.

I limited my list to 8 schools, but only applied to 5.

Four. One reach-match, one match, one near-impossible-but-who-knows, and one local safety.

Three, Two EA (both on the higher end of match, one I got deferred the other I find out in a week), one RD that I haven't actually finished submitting yet which is my safety so I should probably do that. If I don't get accepted into my second EA school next week then I'll be sending an app to the community college as a just in case sort of thing. I kinda regret not looking at / applying to more schools, but at the same time, I'm glad that I don't have a dozen auditions (music schools) to go through.

12

3 Safeties (CSU's, UCR)
5 Matches (UC's, Cal Poly)
4 Reaches (Ivies and other top 10's)

Besides a few people who got accepted ED, most from my school applied similarly.

4 total

2 safety, 1 match, 1 slight reach

i do wish i had applied to more schools (more reaches especially) but w/e, i'm happy with these and wouldn't mind going to any

except one of the safeties; it turned out to be a commuter school. i didn't do any research on it, i just applied because everyone uses it as a safety and it has a free app + no recs or essay :p

haha 12 in the states.
3 in canada.

oh and in the states, thats 8 ivys. stanford, and 3 public schools (berkeley, LA and NYU)so almost all reaches.

canada: mcgill, queens and UBC, all matches and safeties (UBC extreme safety)

NYU is a private school, and also slightly below the rest admissions-wise.

I love having the privilege of calling a school like NUS (UBC in your case) an extreme safety. Even though I really hope I don't have to go there.

11, none early. I originally cut it down from 13.

I have 5 reaches that I truly love.

looks toward fingers to help with counting

8 privates (IMO, 1 safety, 2 matches, 5 reaches, including 2 ivies), 5 UCs(cal and LA reachish, SD, irvine, and SB im fairly confident about)

11 total. 2 safeties 9 reaches.

Oh thanks, I guess I just assumed NYU was public, since they aren't offering any finiancial aid. I doubt I would go there! (for canadians)

And yes I know I love that too, I don't want to be over confident, but for someone who is good enough to be competitive for the US schools, and who lives in Canada, it is very easy to get into Canadian schools, including the likes of McGill.

I remember reading about 5 or 6 years ago, that the narrower you could refine your list the more successful your applications were likely to be. Wonder if anyone has redone that survey given the recent admissions madness? Perhaps I should encourage D to expand her list of possibilities.
