I recently applied to Princeton RD. I sent my music supplement (french horn) to the orchestra director. He loved it and said that he would “support my application.” What does that mean? Clearly not that I’m in, but it’s really good, yes? I have a friend who got in last year, also played horn, and he said that this was the reason he got in. Apparently on his acceptance letter there was even a handwritten note from the director telling him he was excited to work with him, something like that. I hope this means what I think it does!!
If your application is otherwise competitive and the orchestral director puts in a word for you your chances are much higher than average. Good luck!
haha yeah… that’s a super good sign, if every other aspect of your application is outstanding. perfect grades, great SAT, stellar rec letters, and compelling ECs. in other words, the support from the band together helps a lot, but only if everything else is awesome. best of luck!
applying SCEA would have been a good move
That means that your hooked! Congrats!
@julia1999, did you get in?
