Sentence Completion question

Although the ediotrs were reputed to be very __, the uneven quality of the material they put into the anthology suggests they were too __.

The answer is selective....inclusive, but I think its judgmental....dicscriminating. If they were too selective, wouldn't it be not inclusive? Thanks.

Because of the word ‘although’ the words will be opposite in meaning. The sentence is saying the editors are usually picky, but in this anthology the kept too much stuff.

Judgmental and discriminating aren’t opposite of each other. Using them would say that the editors normally choose works to fit their opinion, but in this case they chose works to fit their opinion. That sentence wouldn’t make sense because “although” sets the editors up to do something unexpected.
