September 2010 ACT Math Discussion

^Makes pi rotation in 1 second, so how long will it take to make 8 full rotations.

5 to 8 weeks.

I think it was c, and that’s right, but there’s a negative in front.

Could someone explain the one with the triangle and parallel lines?

5-8 WEEKS??!
even online?!?

i know a lot of you got E but isn’t it B though? B was like
1/x - 1/y and since x and y are both negative integers, both 1/x and 1/y are negative terms (positive divided by negative) and then subtracting one negative number from the other.

i concur w/ billabong :)

@massgirl 1/y would become positive with a negative y

no! -5 - -3 is not pos

no…1/(-1) - 1/(-1)=0…not negative…it was def e

Edited. :)

So we pretty much know it was E.

**** I think this was the only one I got wrong in Math…

A is right…

Scores will be available online on September 27th at midnight central time. Unless you messed up your demographics and your scores get delayed.

^Oh sorry I was thinking about getting our testbooks back.

The slope was one kinda like a science question.

Missed 4 so far… :(

did you guys write your mutliplce choice form book in ur answer sheet?

I thought it was easy, much easier than the SAT math section. I thought I would run into some tricky problems, but i never did!

I’m in the same boat as you ACTTester. That movie slope one was the only one i think i got wrong…ugh that was a stupid confusing unnecessary “math” problem. The other confusing one was the 5 points on a geometric figure…but i put circle and i guess that was right answer

wasnt the first movies question like 2700??? im just trying to get answers for whoever is making the consolidated list

What would -3 be?

@galib do you remember how the question was worded?
