Thanks guys.^^^ And also…does anybody recall the difference between answer choices A and B for that funky slope-movie question? I know I was between those two but I see what B was I can probably figure out what I put. Thanks!

@ nyjetsfan, i WISH lol but i’m pretty sure 1 wrong is always a 35=/

^ 1 wrong is only always a 35 on English.

wasnt the longest side of the triangle questions root 36 because the distance formula ended up adding 25 and 9?
Also, what did you get for the area of the triangle on the coordinate plane. I eyeballed like 15…

^No, it was sqrt(40) and 7.5.

the longest side was the square root of 40 because the distance formula was 4 + 36.

but the area was 7.5 for the other question.

and it sucks if u make a stupid mistake and can’t get a 36 lol damn

@kai427: I believe it was sqrt(40), I don’t know recall the exact numbers though. And area of triangle was 7.5. Base was 3 and height was 5. 0.5*3+7=7.5

Kai-you’re right one of the sides i believe was square root of 34 (25+9). But another side was longer, and was the square root of 40.

damn… oh well im guessing 6 wrong for myself. BTW real ACT prep says -7 is 30

@ ACTfan, you’re right. last night i made a program on my calc for the distance formula and i tried the distance for both of the long sides…and yeah it was rt 40

@massigirl: Haha, I have a program for distance formula too! Also have one for slope, even though I know how to find slope. Just felt like making it.

^It’s a good idea to get a program for quadratic, distance and finding the area of a triangle with 3 side lengths.

All of them were needed today hah.

i have one for slope tooo haha! i love programs because even if the problem is easy as it is, programs can buy you time which is always good=)

what about the question with the how many inches deep is the water

and yeah i have quadratic and heron’s too…i actually think i would DIE without the quadratic program

^Water was 5 inches deep.

@ dakoolkid, the water was 5 inches deep.

@NYJetsFan
stupid mistakes are the story of my life lol

^Yeah, I wanna save as much time as I can. Sometimes they have questions that say: "what is the slope between (2,3) and (-4,7) and then it only takes a few seconds to enter into your calculator.

And billabong, when was quadratic required?

^You could use it for a lot of them, the one I most distinctly remember being the f(x) and g(x) one, where f(x) would be undefined at -3 and -4 I think.
