September 2010 ACT Reading Discussion

What’s wrong sukmalildick? did i shut you up?

"Well regardless, I hope for your sake you are all right. I didn’t even need to take this ACT. I’ve already committed to college. And its that school that all of you wish you could be accepted to =).

The only reason I left my “correct opinion” was so that you all would realize that you won’t get that 36. Stop b****** and calling me out, and for once accept that you might be wrong.

Take the time to reread the passage and then next time you can circle the bubble with concerned…"

i love suma he is so idiotic, it’s funny.
please sumabigdick, continue…
I need some entertainment.

@airfreshener: I am in the Stanford class of 2015. I was accepted over the summer through swimming. I am a senior in high school.

You should probably put more thought into your attacks lol.

Hiya! I have questions on two

There was one about what caused Antartica to become icy, and I put the circular currents or something, because it said they deflected the warmer winds and cause Antartica to become cold. Did I read the question wrong?

Also, the one about what the Wright Brothers did NOT talk about. I didnt have time left for that one, so I used process of elimination, and put that they didn’t talk about how long they’ve been at the plane building thing.

Anyone help?

^ok either way you have not undermined my argument you stupid moron. If you got a 2360 on SAT’s, you would have figured that out by now.

You still got into stanford. You still took the ACT’s even if your parents forced you AND YOU STILL CAME ON HERE!!! IT MUST INDICATE TO SOME EXTENT THAT YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO.

^^ That one asked for what was NOT a cause. I put “snow covered the” something.

And yeah, they didn’t talk about how long it took them to work on the plane.

Why are you guys engaging with the obvious ■■■■■?

You guys are ridiculous. This is a forum, not real life. Please refer to the analogy about arguing on the internet.

/Arguments

Like I stated earlier. I want to see if I got the perfect 36. That way when I scan my score onto this site so you can master**** to it. jk.

Jesus I just want to confirm my intuitions that I got a 36. A 36 is so much different than a 2360. airfreshener of all people you should realize this.

Well I guess I should start the consolidated list then:

Concerned----(Note: This is a recent change from reliant/prideful)
Didn’t talk about her 20’s
Irritated by her friends and family
to get warm

Feel free to add on

Sorry you idiot but no it’s not. A 36 is a 2390, only 30 points difference. And you’re right, I do realize this…that you are an idiot.

^lolllllllllll

I agree with sumabigdick about concerned, I put concerned too. after all,he did not seem too proud, nor reliant. But concerned fits pretty well in that context. While, i think sumabigdick is rude and a bit of a joke. He definitely shows how CC can get caught between two answers and not even consider that both answers may be wrong. even more, why the debate on ONE questions. If we cannot come to a consensus can we tackle other questions. this is stupid and frustrating.

HAHA Ashlllley. You are ridiculous. I sure hope we are room-mates. I don’t know how Stanford accepted a guy with a lack of re-readability. Besides, I am from California as well, and I don’t see how that is threatening.

If you are from California, you might go to a high school I know of. Care to share? Maybe you can “Beat the ***** out of me because you got an ACT question wrong” before you actually attend college =).

Go Cardinals!

So anyway. I think I remember putting down both the passage didn’t mention what the narrator wrote in her twenties and why her aunt didn’t send off her novels. Were these to the same question or different ones?

If they were to the same question, I guess I erased the aunt and filled in the other answer…

^^^ Explain how it’s concerned?

Ashllley! Mashing someone’s brain to death because they told you that you got an ACT question wrong is quite dramatic. I think Stanford should review your application and mark you as mentally unstable.

In that case we can’t be room-mates unfortunately…

@nil desperandum: that makes two 36’s =)

I am going to figure out your IP address sukmaLILdik and i will give it to Ashllllleeeyyyy

I don’t see how it’s concerned. After all, the question was only referring to this section, yeah?

I think its concerned by process of elimination.
a) He did not show any pretext of pride. He simply stated that his instruments were more delicate than the government’s instruments. He did not brag ,nor boast. even more, there was no bragging in the passage.
b) Not reliant. He wasn’t realiant on anything, nor dependent.
c) concerned. He specifically stated. "Morning brought with it a twenty seven-mile gale. Our instruments, which were more delicate and more accurate than the Government’s, made it a little over twenty-four; but the official reading by the United States was twenty-seven miles an hour. " Nonetheless, the government’s official readings were a 26. think about how much difference such a little discrepancy could make. Too much wind could tear the delicate airplane apart. Too little wind and the plane wouldn’t fly.In this context, concerned is definitely a viable answer, if not the right answer.

Of course, I could be wrong. I am extremely fallible.

@ LaTina I already answered the concerned question earlier, page 24 I believe. And they were two different questions. No worries.

@ Ashllley, I would rather die by asphyxiation if that is possible. Otherwise, please use a Mattingly wooden baseball bat to beat my brains out.

Plus, if they WERE concerned, don’t you think they wouldn’t have even attempted a flight in the winter? They obviously were pretty confident with their machine, as described in the end how they were proud of what they made and know that they will create a better one.

@ airfreshner: Please do find my IP Address. Then we can have a ACT “Concerned” party at my house.
