***SEPTEMBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

really hoping for a really generous curve in math because i was on question 42 when there was like ~8 minutes left and i was about to have a stroke… so… lets hope!

I would be so so so so so happy if I got into Berkeley… .__.

@kingofacademia4 By the practice test for 2015/2016

E: 35
M: 33
R: 31
S: 28

So composite is 32 or so. But don’t assume you got as many wrong as you’ve listed.

oh my. that 73d science section…I CRY! I was like hyperventilating because my timing was so off LOL
whoops.

Those of you who took the June ACT, how do you feel this one compared? I thought english was similar, maybe slightly more difficult. Math started out similar, but ~50 was when poop hit the fan… I barely finished on time and had to blindly guess on 2, which has never happened… and I thought reading and science were pretty similar but the science had a couple questions where some background knowledge was required, which kinda threw me off since I wasted time trying to find answers in the passage

I definitely enjoyed having tons of prior knowledge on the big physical science section, cannot deny that it would have thrown me off 6 years ago though.

There was a couple of background questions. I certain I wouldn’t have been able to answer a couple of them without prior knowledge. That is how science ACT should be.

Everybody here is saying reading was easy while I thought that math was easy except for last 3 q’s. My reading score is so fked cause there’s gonna be a horrible curve for reading and generous for math (which I don’t need). I am so stupid for forgetting about time and then leaving myself 5 minutes to do the last passage. :frowning:

How is the September curve for each of the sections? Does anyone know? I think I missed 3-4 on math… Which is really bad…

@Kat2016 i took it in june and i thought this test was WAY harder… and i only had 2 hours of sleep on the june test and a full 9 hours today… i did think english was about the same as june but math was way harder (and june was more difficult than before as well…), reading was worse today too in my opinion (the prose fiction seemed a little more difficult and VERY time consuming. literally spent 15 minutes on it and it ruined me for the rest but oh well. maybe i skimmed and guessed well enough?) and science was way more time consuming and more difficult this time than june (and i got a 32 science on june)
oh well… im sure i bombed this act

That moment when you realize that you read the question, but still did something that the question specifically says is not included

I got Form 73D. Overall, the test was a joke. I think I got 36 English 36 Reading 36 Science, but the math was harder than expected. I hope I didn’t pull a 35 on Math. I’m so stressed about it.

The June was way easier! This one was so odd. They better have a great curve for this.

@inTheVomitorium assuming we’re thinking of the same one, that was the one I struggled with the most. Our school is really weird with scheduling and we only take physics senior year, so I’m in that right now and obviously haven’t learned much since there’s only been one week of school. I did take physical science first semester of freshman year, but I don’t remember much from it, especially since our teacher did not take the class too seriously and would forget to teach us stuff and then just give us answers on the tests… ugh… but i don’t think I did awful

Electric motors are so dank.

Yup… I have a couple of those on math…

if I meant to write about Homestead strike and put down homestead act on my essay… what will happen?

@violinlover123 Not APUSH, but two totally different things. Both Homestead Acts were actually very beneficial to some extent.

@Inject9 I only recognized one question that absolutely required outside knowledge but I did guess on 2 or 3
