@doge777 me… do you think science is brutal?
Science was ok pretty easy, not bad.
Why did everyone write about civil rights? That just brings down the quality of your argument unless it really stood out. You could’ve mentioned Thomas Hobbes and his Leviathan. The Declaration of Independence itself says that if the law becomes tyrannical, it is society’s moral obligation to overrule it. The law is derived from the consent of the governed, so you could mention how it would become much darker than Machiavellian theory, but an act of injustice (that part is just fluff, but all logos is kind of boring anyways). Bring in natural rights and the right to own property. If the law is derived from us, then it is our property and something that should not be taken away. I feel like that’s a much more intricate and unique argument. Combo of AP Euro and APUSH.
I take it there was a really easy science section on one form and a tough one on the other? Mine was about torque, enzymes, and other stuff I can’t seem to remember.
@basketballstar24 well hope you had a lucky day because your grammar isn’t on point… LOL it’s “I think I did WELL,” not “I think I did good.” oops
Does the ACT superscore like the SAT?
@helpme808 varies on each college
Also LOL at those who wrote about the purge in their essays… You guys just made my day! Never thought about those interesting perspectives in our pop culture
lol im late, but i thought the science and reading sections were okay. On the english section, i had a few questions that were tricky and math, at the end i was like what.
Does everyone get same ACT paper or is it same only in a particular continent or some centre?
Overall, thought it was easy compared to the Barron’s practice tests that I did. There were a few math questions I struggled with but since I had time, I was able to go back and rework them so maybe a 33-34. Math and science are good subjects for me. The last science passage was tricky but I also had extra time to work on that one so I felt good about it maybe 33. English and reading were easy. I studied with retired tests, the Real ACT and Barron’s (all timed). Barron’s are a lot harder than the actual test so I think using those really helped. I’m trying not to be too confident, but I have a good feeling about this test. Hoping to get 33-34 or higher.
@ZainSD Well I’m an Asian, and I had form 70E. It seems that both 70E and 73D have very difficult math sections (not in the sense of absolute difficulty, but they ARE difficult compared to other ACT administrations). I thought I got 60/60 on Math though. But the fact is that I usually finish all 60 questions with 10-15 minutes to spare, but this time I finished it just on time tbh. It was harder than I anticipated. On a difficulty scale of 0-10, if the average level is 5/10, I’d say that this time it was 8/10.
One thing I wonder is: what is this Asians-are-good-at-math bias??? Why do so many Americans like to say that? (I don’t live in the US and am not a native speaker btw)
@doge777 Here. 70E. I took it in Hong Kong.
For 73D, the prose double passage was hard. The questions were so long, it took up soo much time. I had to leave 8 with merly random answers. I don’t think there ever has been a double passage on prose. Like it’s the worst idea ever.
@16jpatel It threw me off a bit because I wasn’t expecting it, but overall, it is still the same kind of thing as if it were in another section
@AmericanGothic I think it’s just stereotyping. @16jpatel I think the double prose passage was easy, this double passage was better than the one in the 15-16 prep booklet.
Is it plausible that 58-60 in math will be a 36?
@emersonballer21 yes. However, the curve may range from 57, 58, 59, 60 for a 36 in math. Depends on how other people did.
I did a practice one before this. you choose one viewpoint you write as many examples to support it then another essay where you refute the other two
@TheIG19 I felt the same way. Reading and Science were almost impossible with the time crunch.
