E-tough tough tough. I was unsure about so many questions. Curve please generous
M- eaaassssyyyyyy. A bit unsure about matrices. The rest:
English- definitely easier than prac tests I’ve taken, was unsure about maybe 3 questions… Bc: 35 wc: 32
Math- A LOT EASIER than June act and I got 33 math for that… Unsure about 1-2 bc: 36 wc: 33
Reading- felt very very rushed halfway through… I had like 13 mins left for the last two passages Bc: 32 wc: 27
Science- easier than practice tests and June act definitely, knew all of them for the most part but I thought a few of them were ambiguous. Bc: 34 Wc:30
Writing: not bad, but I usually don’t do so good on writing lol. I felt like the topic was a little bland, but all in all solid essay Bc:11 wc: 9
Any curve predictions for the sections?
I took a different test than you guys I believe, because I am an international. English went well, although I wasn’t sure on a few problems. Math went better than expected. Still not my best section. I felt rushed on reading, but I did finish it in time. Science felt to easy, and I finished it with 3 minutes to spare.
Also, during the English AND the reading test, my proctors phone started buzzing. During the English test it was for like a minute, during the reading she turned it of immediately. Should I say anything about this? As it did startle me, breaking my concentration.

English : finished really early and found it incredibly easy. There were maybe 2 or 3 questions I was only kind of sure on. This is by far my strongest section though.
Math : started out super easy, got a lot harder. I did find myself a little confused on maybe five questions, but I had low hopes for it.
Reading : I don’t know if I did really terrible or something but I found it VERY easy. I finished with four or so minutes, I think I got a good score.
Science : Very easy, although one question was worded weird…
@ish718 report that to the ACT. You should’ve been allowed to use a non-beeping watch.

Overall I think I did okay today.
June test:
E: 32
M:25
R:30
S:29
Composite: 29
Today’s test:
E: not horribly difficult. There were some that I was stuck between two answers, then immediately googled them right after the test ended and realized that I got at least 1 or 2 wrong
M: they’ve definitely made the math tests harder. There were a couple that I struggled on, and some that I’ve never seen in practice tests before. I had to guess on the last 3 or 4 because of time. Although the ones that I took longer on, I’m confident that I got mostly correct. My math score could be anywhere between 25 and 28 (based on my practice scores) praying for a generous curve!!!
R: I thought it was medium difficulty. none that I had no clue how to answer.
S: I was thinking science was going to be dreadful, but the graphs were very easy to read and the conflicting Viewpoints passage was shorter than it has been in the past. (Was anyone else’s viewpoints passage the very first passage? In all the other tests I’ve taken, the viewpoints passage has always been near the end–is ACT switching it up?). I think I did good, but Science always gets me on time so I rush and end up making careless mistakes. Hopefully I didn’t get very many wrong.
My goal is to get a 30 or above. I’m really really really hoping I get there, or else the past 2 months of studying will be for nothing… Praying to the ACT gods to give us a generous curve and good scores!
Ive taken ACT three times before. I honestly thought the english and math were pretty difficult. I am really uncertain about the english especially. The math took me pretty long and was unable to finish the last two questions. I have gotten 33 composites before and never run out of time. Was surprised how difficult the math was. I thought the reading and science was easier than usual. I always run out of time in reading (usually have to guess last 3-4) but this time I was able to finish with a few second to spare. The same is with science in that I always run out of time. I honestly feel it was easier than normal.
Hoping the english and math curves are lenient. Thought the english had many question that made me unsure to whether I got them right.
Think I got
E-32(usually score in the 33-35 range in practice tests)
M-33 (usually score in the 35-36 range in practice tests)
R-33(usually score in the 28-32 range in practice tests)
S-34(usually score in the 29-33 range in practice tests)
C-33
Its kinda weird hearing how many people think the math and english were easy and I am also surprised that people think the reading and science was difficult. Anyone have a curve prediction? I’ve seen lately that the english curves of the past few tests have been very lenient
Today’s test was the last chance for ED/EA applicants. I hope everyone did well.
English: I found it to be the hardest. I have taken three ACTs ealier and naver had trouble, but this one was especially hard for me. There were a lot of idiom and vocabulary questions that I wasn’t familar with (3-4).
Math: easier than that of June
Reading: easier compared to ealier tests but science was difficult
Sience: it was easy, graphs were straightforward but conflicting viewpoint was kinda tricky
Overall this test was hard but easier than earlier ones. I think the ACT is trying to level up their standards. For those who are in seniors (class of 2017) are the ones who are suffering from all these major changes from standardized testings.
Recommend to take the SAT for class of 2018 or later
what do you guys think the curve will be for reading and science? Found english, math, science easy but reading was a bit tough
My son thought the english was ok, science was hard as usual, but thought reading and math were much harder than usual. He ran out of time and had to guess at the end. He was disappointed there was no prose/fiction section in reading, as that is typically his best one. We were hoping for 1 point increase to qualify for a scholarship, but he is positive he scored lower than June
Yeah, can someone try to predict the curve based on how they did in comparison to other practice tests?
Worst/Best Case Scenario
Eng: 34/36
Math: 35/36
Reading: 30/34
Science: 35/36
All in all I thought this test wasn’t too bad. Was pushed for time on reading but that’s always the case. Was unsure of 1 on english. Math no problems. Science no problems.
@uwalummom , what do you mean no Prose/Fiction section in Reading? It’s always the first passage. You sure your son didn’t misread the category at the top?
If it wasn’t Prose/Fiction, then what was it?
@mmk2015 it was literary narrative. I was surprised too.
Thank you @Zorba5398 He’s not home right now, and I couldn’t remember what he said, but that was it…
The Writing section had some frustrating problems that I hadn’t encountered in ACT guides. I know the general rule of thumb is “concise is the right” but some just seemed so appropriate with a little more info than the purely “concise” answers.
I was relieved that I finished every section on time but Reading and Math were particularly tight.
I think the curve will be generous for Math and possibly writing. Not so much for Science imo.
I’m going to be upset if math is my lowest score(it probably will be) because I’m majoring in engineering. Though it’s always reassuring to remind ourselves that the ACT math isn’t entirely a good depiction of anything besides how efficient you are at calling upon concepts you’ve memorized to solve tricky problems in a very short time interval.
Hell, I’m already in my first semester of college taking calculus I and rocking it! (it gets harder, I know I know). I just need a decent score come transfer admission time.
Literally got 2 hours of sleep tonight so I’m not expecting my best score
English - pretty standard but way more punctuation (especially dashes and commas) than expected
Math - I thought it was harder than both the April and June act. There were way more questions that required sheer knowledge of the subject (for example formulas and methods etc)
Reading- Not bad, pretty standard. I usually get 34s for both math and reading but i feel like ill only get that for reading now.
Science- Some confusion graphs but easier than the June act for sure.
When are scores released?
