September ACT Curves

Would someone like to post their predictions?

I actually differed from most people, here is how I felt about it.

English = Weird, I'm not sure. I want to say more difficult but it seems like I got most of them right that are discussed about here. I had a question where it listed like three things blah, blah, and BLAH, and I put a comma after the last BLAH and idk if it should have been there. But, most people thought this was easy?

Math = About same, maybe a little easier. I got the hiking and COS question right because I guessed :) ran out of time and didn't get to read much on the figurine, so i think i missed that.

Reading = FIRST PASSAGE KILLS. I worked backwards, though. So i had no time. But, I think it works out. The hormones I wrote had no effect.

Science = I missed the 12 double chrom. question and that's all I know. I thought it was okay.

Anyway
So, help me predict.

Let's say
-10 on English
-4-5 on Math
-9-10 on Reading
-2-4 on Science

Anyone else hoping the Reading/Sci have a nice curve?!?

This is the first time taking the ACT so I must ask-what exactly do all of those numbers mean. Like -10 on English?

-10 on english

I mean

75-10=65

65 would be curved to a ___

Ah ok, I see.

I’m hoping for some generous curves on the Reading and Science section. A moderate curve on the Math section would be nice as well.

if only 30/40 was a 36 on reading :'(

cowking15:
If only…

Writing and reading have very harsh curves.
I expect that each question -1 would be a point overall.

For math, you can get away with 1-2 before dropping.

Might sound pessimistic I’d reckon 27-29 with those results.

naw i would concur if thats for reading at least

thequestionmark:
Really? Why do you think the reading curve will be harsh?

(jw, not trying to sound mean)

it always is

Because it’s always been harsh. I’ll put it this way.

My last act was

35 35 27 33. The one I took before I got a 33 in reading. This seems to suggest that the curve is harsh and it punishes your pretty badly. It’s also harsh because there’s only 40 Q’s.

That said… I’d predict my new scores to be. Just a random guess/hope.

35 36 30 33. = 34 comp (hopefully)

when do we get to find out our scores online anyway

I’m hoping (irrationally) for -1=36 for Math and -2=35 or 36 for reading. If it is that or +/- 1 for each, I should be good.

I hope you’re correct sg12!

i’m really hoping for a -1 36 on math =!!

@minzeycat

I think they said September 28th.

Is it just me or was the first reading passage one of the most confuzing things you’ve ever read on a standardized test? I definately think the reading will be my lowest score, and should hopefully have agenerous curve?

can somebody post some real curves from released exams…

“when do we get to find out our scores online anyway” 28th of september at earliest, according to the site…i thought earlier.
