serious GPA worries

My current GPA is about a 3.1. It's low, I know. Are my chances to get an internship next year pretty much nil? Also, I do go to a top school(Columbia), and I also have some connections with people in the field I'm going into.

What can I do about my situation? (apart from trying to raise my gpa next year, which I'm obviously going to try to do)

You should be able to network your way into an internship. If you were sub 3.0 then you would have a serious problem.

you can always have good interview and resume???

Are u a sophomore or junior? Also you may need to start cutting some activities that gets you distracted, focus more on school work perhaps summer school could be ideal. If you're going into IB, they demand 3.5 or better. For other careers could vary.

I knew a guy in my analyst class with a 3.1 GPA from Columbia, although this was a liitle before the days of recent grade inflation; so effectively may have been the equivalent of something more ~ 3.3 GPA currently.
