I want to go into IB or MC, and am an economics and computer science double. My economics GPA is a 4.0, but my CS GPA is a 3.0. Do I have a shot at summer internships at top firms/banks? Most people I've talked to that have gotten prestigious internships had 3.7 or above. I have a 3.6.

you have a shot at anything you apply to. you have no shot if you don’t apply.

Your GPA should be good enough to get an interview. My kid did and she is into her 2nd year analyst now.

I am worried because I am way more interested in the business side of things. I am just studying CS because it’s worth the money, and I do (sort of) enjoy it. I am scared I might regret it because it could cost me the chance to work at a prestigious bank/firm.

I’ve found that a lot of people start out at the big boy places and wind up moving to smaller, more specialized firms within their first two years. The point there is that you don’t need to work at Goldman Sachs or McKinsey to have a challenging, rewarding and lucrative business career. That said, apply to any place you want to work at… don’t select yourself out. You don’t get to decide if you’re unqualified; that’s recruiters’ jobs.

Also, if you are not interested in CS, why not drop to a minor?
