Serious Question: How to get off transfer waitlist?

Okay, I got waitlisted by my dream school and I want to do something positive to get off the waitlist. Lots of people say sending out 2nd semester transcript and additional letters. However the problem is I really feeling depressed this semester. I didnt function well academically. My GPA falls from 3.8ish to 3.2ish(2nd semester), and the commulative GPA is 3.4ish. Do you people think that'd be a dramatic fall? I dont want to make execuse but I did work relatively hard, although not as hard as I did last semester. I dont know what to do at the moment cuz I'm alreadly back to home, so I wont have a chance to talk about the grades with the professors; further more, literally my professors of this semester dont know me well alone with my transfer application, I dont think I could let them write letters on my behalf explaining the falling GPA.

I really suck now. Please help!!! I want to send the transcript but I'm so afraid it will only bring about negitive effects! What can I do??

One more quesiton: I dont know how trasnfer waitlist works like, will they pick students depending on the yield rate of admitted first-year and trasnfer students?

i’m going to be frank with you,

that is a very significant downward trend and it will probably get you off the waitlist; but in a negative way. i would suggest not sending them in unless they ask for them. it doesn’t seem like you’d have any shot with that GPA considering your first semester one.

also, you’re correct in your assumption, it does all depend on how many spots are left open after the original yield is compiled.
