"At any rate, I'll decide for myself if laws in this group apply to me."

Wow, what a great attitude, I love the respect you have for the laws of your government. I hope all the would-be-psychopaths don't share your view of the legal system.

"Wow, what a great attitude, I love the respect you have for the laws of your government. I hope all the would-be-psychopaths don't share your view of the legal system."

Little hasty aren't we? Did you read which laws I was referring to? Clearly you didn't.

Re-read my post. I was referring to victimless crime laws (drug laws in particular), in which case "would-be-psychopaths" are inconsequential.

It's arguable that it is actually a citizen's duty to protest unjust laws (a la Walden.) In that sense, kazz may just be doing his duty to democracy and freedom by getting stoned.

Either way, nice slippery slope there. I love fallacies.

zhonggong,

You'd be amazed what you have to do to get expelled from most colleges. Smoking pot is not one of them. Welcome to the 21st century.

I respect people's right to smoke and drink, I just choose not to. I'd rather have control of my own body rather than let drugs do it for me. Some people need to smoke/drink to have fun, that's definitely cool. I don't care as long as you don't pressure me to do it. On the topic, Michigan is like any other school; I'm sure around football season the drinking gets pretty heavy but nothing out of the ordinary.

You need to start drinking some real beer, not rice (Bud's rice content is absurd) poop.

If you like lighter colored beers, try a good hefeweizen. In dark beers, the only good mass produced product (in my opinion) is Guinness Draught (but get it on tap). If you absolutely MUST have macro brew beer (not necessarily always bad...if it's Guinness) just don't make it a Bud. :p

You forget that not everyone drinks to get drunk. Some people actually enjoy alcoholic drinks for the taste.

I almost never drink more than one or two beers in a sitting merely because it dulls my tastebuds and reduces my ability to tell if the beer I'm drinking is good or not. How can I develop my snobbery that way?

Sam Adams is quite possibly the ONLY light American beer that isn't complete crap. Still, I quite enjoy the Sam Adams Boston Lager, Ale, and Hefeweizen.

Actually, I just like hefeweizens anytime. It's one reason why I want to go to Germany so badly.

I like hefe weizens, but I tend to go more for stouts and darker beers. They just tend (in my opinion) to have a more robust flavor than most ambers and ales.

Heineken is way overrated in my book. It's just got popular appeal, but nothing in the way of flavor to back it up. Granted, that's just my opinion.

its just funny this convo is about beer...cuz a friend of mine just invited me over to Markley to have one. Its St. Patty's day....omg. I'm not going though...its frickin 9AM in the morning O_o.

On a more responsible note; please remember that while we do enjoy our share of mind-altering substances, its a very small part of the whole "Michigan Experience". Most of your best times will be spent completely sober. Just thought I'd add that.

Dos Equis isn't bad, but Yuengling is a step above.

No its not. Yuenglings are good the first half but don't finish as well as Dos Equis. Dos Equis also go a lot better with wings (my favorite) than Yuenglings do.
As far as light beers go, I have to drink them to avoid getting fat. I drink a 32 everyday just to do my homework. I know its hard to chose Natty Light over Natty Ice, but I've got to maintain my sexy abs.
