Seriously I can't believe this...

I'm a junior and today I went and saw my new GC (I moved this year) and apparently I wasn't going to be able to graduate on time. My credit couselling summary stated that I had a total of 11 credits. I was in a state of shock. To graduate on time I would have had to taken 2 night school classes and a summer school course (for a total of 30 courses). Or I would have had to come back for another semester (I'm already a year older due to moving out of the country).

Later, (I was still freaked out) I was looking at the courses I had and realized the summary was missing four of my credits! So I went back to the GC and pointed out the mistake. I'm still kinda freaked out that she didn't even realize it's not possible for me to take gr. 11 courses with out the prerequisites.

And I'm kinda wondering if they would have ever noticed had I not pointed it out myself. I don't know if the problem was because of my other school (probably was) but I'll be paying close attention.

Has something like this ever happened to anyone else?

Well sort of. I transfered to another district from a private school between 8th grade and freshman year. And even though I had completed nearly all of my freshman classes in 8th grade, they wouldn't let me skip them and move to sophomore classes. So freshman was the biggest waste of time EVER.

I hate when I know that material really well in class. I know that sounds so ridiculous, but it's true. If I feel overly confident with the material, I don't pay as much attention as I probably should, and I end up making careless mistakes. It's definitely something I need to work on. That problem and my procrastination problem will be my downfalls.
