seriously regretting college choice

Hi, I'm a first year right now at USD. Its a small, private college and I thought that I would really like the academics here since it would be smaller and I was offered a full ride. However I guess I let the full ride blind me into not considering the social atmosphere and how that might affect me. I don't feel like I really belong with any of the people here and I am really regretting my decision! Some of the other schools I got into that I would rather be at right now would be like UCSD, UCI, or LMU. Does anyone know if theres any way I can do anything asap? I know I can transfer but that would typically take me till my 3rd year and I really, really am miserable here... should I just go to a cc and transfer then? My academics are definitely taking a toll too since I feel so unmotivated to be here... Thank you for any advice!

You can apply to transfer for the fall. Go read through the threads in the Transfer Forum for ideas. Start with the one titled “Transfer Admissions 101”

Since you chose your current university because of the full-ride, you need to know that that kind of aid is rarely offered to transfer students. Talk with your parents about the financial situation. It may make more sense for you to stay where you are now as long as possible.
