Seriously, why do all of Summer 2009's "top songs" suck?

I Gotta Feeling SUCKS. WORST SONG EVER.

Knock You Down is decent (the harmonies are quite stellar) but indeed, it’s overplayed.

I never minded when Lady GaGa was at the the top; her songs are pretty good, but overplayed as well.

I JUST tried listening to a few of these songs.

Oh my god, it’s like little Lil Wayne-turned drones with their sappy voices and sex suggestive beats. I hate Lil Wayne. Whoever the hell called him a prodigy didn’t deserve to pass the first grade.

** btw, Lady Gaga I think is the best breakthrough artist this year (I know it was “last year”, but this year we know at least three of her songs, you know?) because at least a few of her songs mean something, they’re all catchy, and it’s just pretty damn refreshing to see eclectic from all of the generic music concepts lately.

All the Above by Maino ft. T-Pain

radio sucks. the only station i would listen to was KROCK, but that went down the drain and morphed into a Z100 wannabe. now i only listen to 106.7 when im with my parents.

^ i doubt anyone would understand that unless they live in ny/nj.

It hasn’t been great, but I think there is some good stuff. “You Belong With Me” is probably the best Taylor Swift song I’ve heard in a while. I love All Time Low’s new stuff. “Good Girls Go Bad” is hilarious and I love it. Cook, Clarkson, and Daughtry’s new songs are good on the American Idol front. I LOVE Katy Perry, not usually my kinda a singer, but oh well, and “Waking Up in Vegas” is great. Lady Gaga is also pretty good for random songs about sex. But Green Day’s new song sucks and has no point. And other stuff seems bad compared to older music by the same bands and singers. Oh, and I really don’t like “Birthday Sex” its one of those songs that sound like it took five minutes to write and I can guess what he was doing right around the time he wrote it. :/

Oh yeah, I listened to Maino ft T-Paino (All the Above) at the beginning of the summer a lot. I listened to Paper Trail (TI), Old/New Em & Dre, Kid Cudi, Lady Gaga owned my radio stations, and just other older stuff. David Guetta isn’t too bad, listened to some of his songs yesterday.

Most of the top songs do suck but Katy Perry is amazing except I think the rest of the songs on her album should have been released instead of the ones that were (except for waking up in vegas) 3Oh!3’s starstruck is pretty good too. But in general this summer’s songs suck. And that one song I gotta feeling or whatever makes me want to shoot myself in the head.

I’m hoping that some good songs come out this year. Prom is this year, and I don’t to hear crappy songs. :(

^Haha, agreed. Maybe some artist can throw out some hot stuff before next spring lol!

You’re counting on good songs coming out that’ll be played on the radio? Good luck. Real music isn’t on the radio.

lol, true Miley Cyrus is like the epitome of lame. Silly tween girls obsessing over for no apparent reason lolz.

it may not be a popular one but at summer camp i heard the song “summer cat” and i think it is sweet.

colorado sunrise is good

I’ve never heard of half of these songs. I only know Birthday Sex and Woke Up in Vegas. No one should listen to the radio, it sucks. I mean, like every new car comes with an iPod connector, so just do that, or rig it up in an older car.

smilemyonly,

106.1 is an amazing station. They fuse classic dance hits with the better hits of today.

haha, someone understood my post. i especially like it after thanksgiving when they start playing christmas songs non-stop. :D

I barely ever listen to the radio, so half of those songs I don’t even know. I get my music from RnBXclusive.

It’s not really that popular, but I love “Fallin’ for You” by Colbie Caillat that came out this summer. and I love “You Belong With Me”, but I could listen to Taylor Swift 24/7 so I love all her songs.

Lil Wayne won a Grammy for “Lollipop.”

:|

Hip-hop tossed in its grave that night.

How does Lil’ Wayne have fans nowadays? Lollipop was a decent party song, but nothing else really. I’ll admit, he had some nice “radio songs” (meaning that they were still party tracks) a few years ago when he was featured on the track. I don’t like songs where he’s the main artist, it’s waaaaay too annoying. Chamillionaire, Luda, Ice Cube, some Jay Z, old Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Eminem, old 50 Cent, Kid Cudi, etc are MUCH better hip-hop artists if you ask me. Lil’ Wayne doesn’t care anymore because he’s so rich. Music is pointless…
