My son who is a current junior got accepted into UCSB’s SERRA RMP program . he also has an opportunity to work with a local tutoring organization that is offering research internships, faculty involved with qualified working professionals with Phd credentials. I am in a dilemma whether it is worth spending the money and going to RMP program or stick with a local program
@AV2020 I would go with the local program under one condition: are the research opportunities guaranteed? Would your son, no matter what, receive some sort of research experience?
I would also prefer the local organization because it could be considered community service as well, by the way that you are describing it.
