Got the official acceptance letter the other day with merit offer of $24,500 per year plus $1500 for the summers.
Congrats!
Congratulations on the acceptance!
S24 and I visited SHU yesterday. He really liked it and we both found the tour to be much more comprehensive than other Northeast schools we visited. Good facilities, emphasis on low student to teacher ratio (very little TA teaching and several direct prof interaction opportunities), and the internships/proximity to NYC is a plus. He is still waiting to hear from a few more schools by the Dec 15 date but this is a strong possibility for him.
Congrats!!!
S24 and I are planning to visit SH during either the Open House (2/18) or the Visit Day (2/20), depending on figuring our our schedules.
Anyone knows how snowy does it gets in Feb?
Northeast is hit or miss on snow. New Jersey is on the ocean which really affects the weather. So, itâs unpredictable - often rain when others get snow but can get hit with a foot of snow occasionally. It is not interior New England which is much more consistently snowy
S24 received an email earlier this week from Admissions inviting him to schedule an interview as part of his application process. Anyone else receive a similar invite?
My daughter was also asked to do an interview. I thought that is was because she did not show demonstrated interest at that point, but I guess we will never know! She was admitted about a week later with $84,500 in scholarships over 4 years, so I am not sure why she was asked. My daughter did say that it was pretty casual and low key, and that the admissions officer was very nice. I believe her name was Julia.
I donât think we ever had that request before getting our acceptance. We did visit and had met with the admission officer from our area so that might be why. Although I wasnât sure if they had remembered her as it was the summer after Sophomore year.
Congrats on your daughterâs acceptance @u2kelly
S24 never visited SH before, and was not asked for an interview. He just submitted his application and then got the admission letter plus merit info afterward.
Congrats!
Thanks! This is great information and pleasant to see they were generous with their scholarship offer.
