Hi everyone,
HS senior currently seeking advice here.
The three aforementioned schools are my narrowed down choices. After college, I plan to pursue a career in federal law enforcement (I will not major in criminal justice haha). With money out of the question, which of these schools can…
-Look the best for federal LE internship resumes (I would be working hard academically for each school.)
-Look the best on actual job resumes
(We all know this is important.)
-and lastly, which one of these schools has the widest variety of reputable majors? Prospectively, I plan to go into business, accounting, or computer science.
Help!!
In regards to what you’re looking for, Seton Hall is probably your best bet. It’s the biggest name and the highest ranked of the three.
Why is money out of the question - is net cost at each similar ?
Yeah, net cost isn’t too far off for each one. Give or take a couple grand.
Either or. Whichever you like best. They are all similarly ranked to be honest. They all are similar in academics too. Although Seton is more known due to D1 Sports.
What type of campus where you looking for?
They’re all medium sized campuses
-Urban branch campus of state flagship? Rutgers Newark
-Suburban w/Religious affiliation? Seton
-Suburban(with a rural feel) & Liberal Arts? Ramapo
Seton & Rutgers Newark are better for law.
They’re all good for Business.
They’re all good for Comp Sci.
Seton is better for Sports(All of them don’t have football)
Seton- D1
RU-N- D3
Ramapo- D3
Ramapo & Rutgers Newark will most likely be cheaper & a better bang for your buck. Although you said they are all similar so it won’t be that significant. How far off is a couple grand?
I’d personally choose Rutgers Newark or Ramapo but they are all similar. Visit them all
FWIW, my company participated in a Government job fair at Ramapo back in April. The room was LOADED with different law enforcement agencies, including half a dozen local PDs, and local and federal agencies. It was well attended, which led me to believe that this was a popular area of interest for the kids. It may be worth looking into further before you make a decision.
I’d personally choose Rutgers Newark
