With the torture of waiting 1+ month for a decision from the UCs, I thought I'd ask some advise.

My cousin and I are both applying to almost the same schools. We were swapping transcript info and she told me she didn't think she had a very good chance to the schools she wanted to go (UCI or UCSD) for Film Studies. The reason for her logic is because she has 5 W's and a D and an F in two NON-transferrable courses from her first year (family problems). Plus she has an overall UC 3.03 GPA. I told her not too worry too much about the W's or the non-transferrable classes (in terms of admission decisions and especially in GPA). Also that the GPA was a little low but being above a 3.0 still looks a hell of a lot better then a 2.99 and she plus she has all her prereqs done for her alternate major.

I told her she had an excellent chance of getting in at least on her alternate major. She on the other hand thinks she has to spend another year at CCC. Who's more in the right?

Good luck to everyone on their transfer admissions.
