Please help me clear up some confusions that Universitys website couldnt help me with.

I have a local masters degree (in Economics-related field) which I received just this year but I want to apply for Stanford CS courses. That makes me a transfer student, right?

Can transfer international applicants apply with Restrictive Early Action? If so, what are the deadlines for that scenario (even if for the year of 2014)?

Are the deadlines for international applicants the same as the ones for Transfer Applicants? My guess is that yes, they are because The application process is the same for all applicants regardless of citizenship or country of residence. but I want to be sure about it.
3.1. (And here is a really silly one: ) if they are the same, does the March 15 deadline for the 2013 term refer to March 2012 or March 2013?

I think probably the best resource would be to contact Stanford directly, although the timing isn’t great and it might be too long from now for them to not be so busy. I’m going to take a stab.

Since you are already a degreed student, I don’t think you are a transfer. Are you seeking a new bachelor’s degree from Stanford?

I don’t think so which I think you answer with your question 3. REA deadline I believe is November 1 of the year you are applying (so it was approximately 34 days ago).

You need to clarify what kind of applicant you are in order to determine the application deadline.

3.1. Yes, really silly since one is already past and one is upcoming. It would be the upcoming date.

Hope that helps some, but it is Stanford admissions directly that you need to contact (I expect, unless someone in a similar situation happens to read your thread).

Thank you for answering! I’ve tried writing them using the address I thought to be the most appropriate (internationalstudentadmission@stanford.edu) but besides the automated reply, there was no response from them so far.

Yes, I want to start learning Computer Science with either transferring the common (not related to professional fields) credits to the new course (if possible) or just starting from scratch.

I am a foreign citizen who has already been enrolled in a local educational model for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
3.1. It’s the relativity of the stated dates that confuses me. If we fix the admission year as 2013, then in this list (as an example):

Standard Application Deadline March 15
Last Acceptable SAT Test Date January
Last Acceptable ACT Test Date February
Notification of Missing Documents April
Notification Date May 15
Student Reply Date June 1

Does March 15 refer to March\12 or March\13?

March 2013. So if you want to apply for Fall 2013, the application deadline is March 15, 2013.

The admissions office is super busy this time of year. How long ago did you write? If it has been more than a week, try again and/or try a different admissions email addy.

Thank you for your kindness, I hope I’ll manage to figure it out and save the year.
