SF State to LACC to BCC to UCB

Hi friendly transfer vets, I'd love a little feedback on my slightly wack-a-doo educational path. Here goes:

I was top-of-class in high school, 4.0+, great SATs, very impressive and prolific ECs, first generation college student, et cetera and so on. I got into every college I applied to (including Johns Hopkins) at the time, all on east coast. Some rough life circumstances prompted a change of heart and I went off a-running to San Francisco, applying to SF State on the way out west. I stayed there for two years, then realized I wanted to move forward with my career instead of finishing a degree that wouldn't have been very relevant (theatre) to my new path. Thus began my life as a college drop-out.

That was all a decade ago.

Here's what's happened since: I've been an on-again, off-again part-time student at multiple city colleges and am just about finished with my IGETC. I find myself living in Berkeley now and have considered applying to finish out a degree. I'm very interested in sociology, so that's my intended major for now. My grades are quite good — every class I've taken on my IGETC is an "A," with the exception of the Stats class I'm currently taking. That's looking like a "C." Here are my questions:

Do I have to include grades and credit from SF State on my UC app? My grades there were pretty good in general, but my last semester was a bit rocky. Is this counted toward my GPA?

Is the "C" in stats going to kill me? And what happens if it ends up being a "D" — do I have to take it over?

How much weight does a very strong professional resume have in the application process?

Does UC Berk ever consider part-time students?

Is my strange path going to confuse / infuriate / delight / bewilder the admissions people?

Any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated!

As a transfer student, you are required to submit all previous transcripts. If SFSU was over 10 years ago, Cal is not going to put a lot of weight on those grades if you have done exceptionally well since you’ve re-started college.

The “C” will not ruin you application. If you receive a “D”, those credits will not transfer and you will probably have to retake the course.

The admissions committee will be very interested in your resume.

UCs generally do not admit students to part-time status… only full-time admissions. However, you may drop to part-time status once enrolled. But that will affect your financial aid, if you receive any.

Your path to college will not bewilder the admission committee. In fact, the like non-traditional students will exceptional backgrounds.
