sfsu to ucsd or ucr to ucsd

UCSD was my first choice school but I was rejected (my SAT was average and my gpa wasn’t higher than a 4.0 so I’m not surprised) I did get into SFSU and UCR, I was hoping to know which school I should go to for political science and which would be easier to transfer out of and into UCSD since I doubt i’ll have a chance at berkeley

I’m going to say UCR.

CCC’s get priority for transfer to the UC’s. You might want to consider attending your local CC and planning to try a one-year or a two-year transfer plan. Especially if you are set on UCSD, you can save money on courses, explore and build some EC’s while handling a less rigorous academic schedule. Just my humble opinion as CC has been a blessing for me!

the admit rate from CCC is 75% according to https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfer-admissions-summary. The admit rate from all other colleges is 35%.

If you go to a CCC then you can use TAG and get guaranteed admission to one of 6 UCs. You can take part in TAP and get preference for UCLA.

Keep in mind, though, it isn’t a random drawing. No matter the source school your chances grow the harder you work to get good grades. The bar may be lower from a CCC but you don’t want to aim for the minimum.

thank you guys for the help but i think i’m committing to sfsu because they’re giving me an almost full ride
