Freshman son from out of state will be moving into the 1300 Dorm on August 23. Since we are flying in, I am thinking that it would make the most sense to ship some of his items so that they are waiting for us when we arrive. I am not seeing any info about where to ship items. Anyone know where to find that info?
I’m also a new Temple mom and have found a huge amount of help and advice on the Temple University Parents Facebook group. You have to request to join but once they receive it you can ask all the questions you can think of and the parents of the upperclassman usually have the answers. There’s also a Temple Residential Life page where I’ve asked a few questions and they’ve replied quickly. Much better than calling the campus.
Thanks for the input–I don’t have a Facebook account (apparently I’m the only person in this world who doesn’t have one–lol)–sounds like a lot of useful info is obtained in the group. I decided to go ahead and call and learned some useful info in case anyone needs it. You do not want any packages arriving before your student has officially moved in–sounds like they will return the item to sender if that happens. The good news is that each dorm has its own mailroom, rather than a centralized location, so any boxes/packages just have to be carried from dorm lobby to room vs across campus. Obviously if you plan to ship anything–just don’t have it be something your student will need the first day or two.
I don’t use FB much but I did make an account a long time ago and have recently started to go if only to get quick info from the Temple pages!
Well thank u on fb page, which was brainstormed on cc a couple of years ago. As one of the first fb members, we are always happy to see feedback like this!
