Shoot! I'm Asian and I'm screwed.

I won't try to ramble, so here are my COMPLETE (well, as complete as I think it could be) stats:

I am keeping my options open, but am looking intensely on colleges in California. I prefer a small school over a big one, and don't care if its religion-affiliated. But, like I have stated before, open-minded.

Places I'm looking into: UC's/CSU's (includ. Cal Poly's), University of San Diego, Claremont Colleges (Pomona =/, Claremont Mckenna, Pitzer), Occidental, and Community Colleges.

Academic info:
-3.1/3.2 Weighted GPA (9th grade 1st sem. terrible, however, showed upward trend over time, I did get an F once, and I have gotten one or 2 D's. usually averaged 3 A's, 2 B's, and 1 C)
-SAT: Didn't take it yet, since I have to take the new ones starting in March.
-SAT II: Didn't take any yet, but I might take the tests for Korean, US History, some sort of English, and Spanish.
-Honors/AP/College: Took English I-II Honors (currently taking English III Honors), Biology 1 Honors, Intro. to Sociology, taking U.S. History AP right now, and will take 2 or 3 college courses offered at a local community college in the spring.

And...thats about it for now. What do you think? Think I have any chance at the places I've listed above? With the exception of the new UC Merced, I heard the UC's and CSU's are getting harder and harder to get into, with the Governor's downsizing and more and more people getting deterred to community college. Considering my screwed up academics career, I am considering going to a community college and transferring over to a 4 year college. I would like to go to a small, liberal arts college, like Occidental or the Claremont Colleges if I could get in. I haven't shown the best academic record, but I'm hoping with the improving trend of my grades, great letters of rec's, a good essay, a solid, new SAT score, and interviews, I can somehow get in to a good college.

Please feel free to recommend any other places I should consider.

It's really hard to give suggestions without your SAT scores, but I would say many of those schools will be reaches for you. You will probably get into UCR and UCSC. UCI, UCSB, and Cal Poly SLO, are sketchy, but may be possible with high SAT scores. Most Cal States shouldn't be a problem. If you want a smaller school, realistically, I would recommend the Cal States; the classes are smaller and you can actually converse with your professors. However, I would highly recommend going to community college rather than settling for something you don't really want; it's going to be 4 years!

Hopefully, your jr and senior grades will lift your GPA. And prepare for the SATs. There is always the possibility...so go ahead and apply.

i believe that you have a legit shot a UCR and Santa Cruz, but the rest are reaches. Seeing how your only a current junior, pull a 3.5 both semesters and your guarented into UCR and Santa Cruz even with a bad SAT score.
