thoughts on my chances/effect of my high school record?

Hey,

I think your SAT/ college GPA will be strong enough to counteract the high school GPA. My concern is that, with the exception of tufts and maybe cornell, all of these other schools are incredibly competitive for transfers. You might want to consider one or more of Northwestern, WashU, Rice, or Georgetown. All of these are much more transfer friendly than the schools you have on your list.

your HS record is not that bad at all, especially if you will be applying as a junior. Your SAT’s are great too, just have good reasons for wanting to transfer and you’ve got a great shot.

Looks like Clay is a freshman since he/she only has one semester of classes. So they will put more weight on your HS grades, however your other stats look very good. Seems like you’re in the running, it’ll come down to essays and recs. I agree with slipper about the low acceptance rates, so if you are dead set on getting out of Hamilton this year, it might be prudent to add a few higher percentage schools.

go for it. as past history on this discussion shows, anything is possible…

he’s a freshman…

you have a great shot, don’t even sweat…
