<p>100 words is kinda a lot man…definitely noticeable.</p>
<p>I’d say 20-40 words over-length is the OK zone…but 100 is a bit overboard. Then again, Michigan doesn’t really care much for the essays.</p>
<p>I think you’ll be fine. I knew someone who wrote a 900 word essay for the long one, and he got in. Also like Heplayer said, Michigan doesn’t even care for the essay, and the admissions officer told me “I promise we don’t count words”.</p>
<p>I think it says something about your writing that you are incapable of answering a brief question with less than 350 words. The essays are probably the least important part of the application, but if they didn’t care about them at all they wouldn’t have you write them.</p>
