Short Statement Questions

The space they provide in application is way too short for my statements.
do you think it will be okay if i write "see attached paper" on provided space?
mine statements are each 150 words

I am having this problem too. Mine were originally around 150 words but they ask for 50 words (on the online supplement) and I was worried that 150 was WAY too much to submit for a 50 word limit. I cut them down to around 60-70ish but I need to rework them because they lost something when I had to chop them down that much.

150 is way too much...if you need to use 60ish words that is fine, but there is a point as to why they ask for 50. work with a teacher, praent, or somebody that is very strong in writing. These questions took me as long as my essay did.

What do they want exactly? Like, both topics seem like the warrant a full, 500 word essay, I don't see how they can be crammed into 60-70 words.

Wait... we're talking about the 2 short answers on the Common App Supplement, right?

yeah...im not really sure exactly what they want, but my interp was to create a concise and complete thought...work with another person and u guys will be fine.

Another Question!
for the Holbein's painting question, are they basically asking me to list and explain some items that CHARACTERIZES me?

yeah don't triple the length they are asking for, part of being a skilled writer is being able to communicate clearly and effectively in the space alotted by an assignment.

edit: this is coming from someone who has been refused by teachers to accept papers because they are too long so i know how hard it is when you have alot to say, definitely take the advice of AlDybs and bring it to someone who is very skilled in writing and can show you what to omit and help you condense some of the things you are trying to say into more impactful and brief sentences.
